Sunset from the treetops at the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center

Sunset is the right time at Panama Rainforest Discovery Center to see the change of the guard of the forest: the hummingbirds are replaced by nectar-drinking bats, pacas eat where coatis ate, while the clouds dissipate and give space for the faint starlight.

It is in this period of transformation that many of the most interesting living forms of our forests can be seen.

Tune your ears to intercept the communication of thousands of creatures that make the night their stage and play their interesting songs to attract mates and sometimes their enemies!

The Last Frontier: Tour “Free Parrots” in Azuero

The Azuero Peninsula has an abundance of parrots that are threatened by the horrible habit of stealing parrot chicks to keep them as pets!

This tour will take us to one of the least known corners of Panama to learn about the work of FAEE and its programs to study the populations of the giant Great Green Macaw and the graceful endemic Azuero Parakeet.

These two birds are in danger due to the harvesting of young macaw or destruction of the forests where they live. Today, thanks to FAEE and the donors who visit us, these birds are symbolising a new project which aims to restore natural areas of this authentic and original piece Panama.

During the visit we will live with local people whose stories of perseverance and dedication lectures us about the future of the planet.

Will visit the school at Flores, a town with only 1 street but with hundreds of beautiful smiles and stories about parrots and macaws. During the visit, students will demonstrate what they had learned from FAEE and their ability to dance and sing!

All of our visit is planned to benefit communities living around these birds threatened by the danger of disappearing forever.
